The Aruba Open Beach Tennis Championship returns to the island of Aruba in 2022. The event has been held every year since 2014 and has become a staple on the island’s annual sporting calendar, attracting many tourists from around the world. The Aruba Open Beach Tennis Championships will take place from November 13 to 20, 2022. Aruba is the home of beach tennis and is expected to draw hundreds of professional and amateur players and spectators. It is the world’s finest beach tennis tournament, with a prize fund of $60,000, and its related parties and other social activities make a much-anticipated comeback after prior pandemic cancellations.
What is Beach Tennis?
Beach Tennis is a combination of regular tennis, beach volleyball, and badminton, with two players on each team volleying a depressurized tennis ball back and forth over the net without allowing it to contact the sand. It is the most popular beach sport in Aruba, Because the sport is so popular, courts at Eagle Beach and Palm Beach are well-lit at night and open 24 hours a day.
The Aruba Beach Open has seven competitions, including mixed doubles, singles, men’s and women’s doubles, a junior event, a team cup, and a nation’s cup. The competition lasts eight days, with live music or DJs performing in the evenings and a spectacular finale event on Sunday, November 20th.
