Flowers and natural beauty are excellent for Mother’s Day in Orlando, and both can be found in Orlando’s public parks and distinctive outdoor attractions. Lake Eola Park in downtown Orlando, Kelly Park in Apopka, the West Orange Trail between Winter Garden and Apopka, and many more are among Orange County’s most popular public parks and green areas. Several parks with natural springs are also located nearby. They’re all fantastic spots for a Mother’s Day or any other outdoor get-together, and they’re all free!

3. Enjoy a day at the beach with Mom.

There are so many fun things to do at the beach, and getting some sun is an additional benefit! We’ve got you covered, whether your mom is a foodie or just likes to be pampered. These beaches are within a few minutes drive from your vacation home.

  • Clearwater: Clearwater Beach, home of Winter the Dolphin from Disney’s Dolphin Tale, is noted for its stunning sunsets and miles of white sand beaches.

  • St. Pete Beach: The year-round vacation resort of St. Petersburg, popularly known as St. Pete, allows families to reconnect and relax together.

  • Cocoa Beach: Want to catch a wave in the surfing hub of the East Coast? Drive east to Cocoa Beach, which is about 60 minutes from Orlando. Visit the Cocoa Beach Pier to see what’s going on in the area.
  • Daytona Beach: Daytona Beach, “the birthplace of speed,” is about 80 miles north of Cocoa Beach and about an hour’s drive from Orlando.

4. Treat your Mom to a brunch

Brunch is not only one of the most popular weekend meals, but it’s also a fantastic time to reconnect with family and friends. It’s that perfect moment between breakfast and lunch, when you’re up early enough to enjoy your day but not so late that you’re cutting into dinner time. Mother’s Day is on Sunday, May 8th, so make your reservation as soon as possible, any brunch goer knows how quickly the popular locations fill up! Here are some of our favorite Mother’s Day brunch spots:

  • Villa de Flora at Gaylord Palms Resort:

  • Cafe Osceola at Rosen Shingle Creek:

  • Mia’s Italian Kitchen:
    Mia’s Italian Kitchen is a family business. Owner Dave Nicholas’ Sicilian grandmother provided the cuisine with homestyle traditional Italian recipes for fresh pasta, house-made sauces, soups, and snacks. Mia’s serves supper seven days a week, as well as Sunday brunch with endless mimosas.

  • Soco Restaurant:
    Under the guidance of award-winning Executive Chef/Partner Greg Richie, Soco Restaurant serves Southern Contemporary Cuisine with a creative culinary approach. In a warm and friendly atmosphere, the restaurant delivers authentic southern hospitality.

5. Asking your Mom for lunch or dinner is always a good idea
