The Cape Florida Lighthouse is the oldest structure in Miami, and it’s one of the most charming. The lighthouse was built in 1825 to warn ships of dangerous reefs along Biscayne Bay. It’s located on Key Biscayne, a barrier island that can only be reached by boat or ferry. The current lighthouse was built in 1846 after an earlier one was destroyed by a hurricane, but don’t worry, you won’t need any navigational skills to reach this one!
