Plan Your Trip to a Galaxy Far, Far Away! What You Need to Know

News, Star Wars, Theme Parks, Walt Disney World, What's going on in Orlando?
Hardcore Star Wars fans and Disney veterans have been waiting with baited breath for the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Located in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the newest attraction fully immerses fans into the Star Wars franchise.

Walk the alleys of the remote outpost village on planet Batuu, crossing paths with some out-of-this-world creatures. Hop on the Millennium Falcon for an adrenaline-pumping adventure. Dine on galactic delicacies and fun themed drinks, including the infamous blue milk seen in the films. Before you go, here are some tips for getting the most out of this incredible experience:

Height restrictions

Galaxy’s Edge will feature two interactive rides, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. Riders on Smugglers Run must be at least 38” or taller and those riding Rise of the Resistance have to be 40” or taller.

Dining reservations

Disney will not be taking reservations for any of the restaurants in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Along with the sit-down options, the attraction has several quick-service options like Milk Stand, Ronto Roasters and Kat Saka’s Kettle. All the restaurants will offer mobile ordering, but plan ahead as those time slots will fill up quickly.

Disney FastPass+

For the foreseeable future, Disney FastPass+ will not work with the two rides in Galaxy’s Edge.

Extra Magic Hours

Access to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge requires a valid paid admission to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. However, capacity restraints mean that entrance to the new attraction isn’t guaranteed. Fortunately, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be part of Extra Magic Hours. Extra Magic Hours allow Disney resort guests extra time in the parks. Additional Extra Magic Hours will also be available from September 1 through November 2 from 6 am to 9 am. These hours are only open to Disney resort guests.

Park reservations

Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland has been utilizing a reservation system for guests wanting to visit. At Disney World, however, there is currently no plans for a reservation system, just a standby line to enter.

Be sure to book one of Casiola’s well-equipped and beautiful vacation homes before you go too! Each of our vacation homes enjoys a prime location just minutes from the Disney parks. Many of them also have cool Star Wars-themed rooms so you can fully immerse yourself in the fun.
