Minnie Vans: The new way to get around Disney

News, Orlando travel and vacation planning tips, Theme Parks, Walt Disney World, What's going on in Orlando?
Just like the parks have evolved over the years, so has transportation options at Disney World. From Uber and Lyft to rental cars to Disney buses and monorails, there are a ton of great options to get from one place to another in the parks. The newest to the transportation scene, Minnie Vans are specially-themed rideshare SUVs from Lyft. Here’s what you need to know about this fun ride share option:

The Basics

All Minnie Vans are owned and operated by Disney in conjunction with Lyft. The vehicles aren’t actually minivans, but Chevy Traverse SUVs, decorated in Minnie’s trademark black, red and white polka dots. Using the Lyft app, riders can request a ride from anywhere within the Walt Disney World Resort. Each driver is a trained Disney cast member, ready to get where you want to go with a smile.

The price of each ride varies depending on the distance between travel points. You’ll be able to see the exact amount on the app before you confirm your ride. Minnie Vans are available from 6:30 am to 12:30 am and during that time, a Minnie Van will usually be just minutes away.

Currently, each Minnie Van ride costs a $15 base fee, plus a per mile fee that varies depending on demand.

How It Works

In the Lyft app, choose your destination within the Walt Disney World Resort and then choose the Minnie Van option. Confirm your pick-up location and the app will show your Minnie Van number and a map to track where your driver. You can also pay for the ride and tip right on the app.

If you need an accessible vehicle, you can call the customer service line at 407.828.3500. These vehicles require a 45 to 60-minute lead time and can accommodate standard wheelchairs, motorized vehicles and electric conveyance vehicles.
