Explore Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind with us

Venture across space and time with the Guardians of the Galaxy on an epic quest.  This all-new attraction debuts today, May 27, 2022, at The Wonders of Xandar, a new destination to explore within Walt Disney World® Resort’s EPCOT®. The Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind roller coaster premiered as the most significant addition to Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebration. This family-friendly thrill ride features the world’s first reverse-launch on a Disney coaster and is one of the largest fully-enclosed coasters in the world. Found in the park’s newly redesigned World Discovery section, near the front of the park between Spaceship Earth and Mission Space. The Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind pavilion has replaced the original Universe of Energy pavilion, which has been renamed the Wonders of Xandar pavilion.

The Starblaster

The original full-size Starblaster stands outside Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at Walt Disney World EPCOT®. As you approach the attraction, the first thing you notice is the Xandarian starship. This ship will serve as the pavilion’s unique icon, establishing the Xandarian tale that tourists will discover inside this new attraction. Also, the eye-catching blue and gold colors will make this a magnificent new addition to World Discovery. You could hear the ship’s engine hum as you pass by.

Galaxarium

The Galaxarium is the gateway to the Wonders of Xandar. Stepping inside the pavilion places guests in the presence of Worldmind, a sentient Nova Corps supercomputer who is busy teaching the culture and planet of Xandar while also bridging the gap between that and Earth. Worldmind knows a lot about Xandar and is interested in several Earthly things.

The Xandar Gallery

Further exploration of the pavilion leads travelers on a twisting journey through The Xandar Gallery with various displays, models, and videos highlighting the people and locations of Xandar.

The Phase Chamber and Cosmic Generator

The Cosmic Generator is responsible for the creation of jump points through space — in other words, an extremely fast way to get from one area to another. The Xandarians have invited everyone to a demonstration, which will take place onboard a Nova Corps Starcharter circling Earth.

Because of Nova Prime’s debut Irani Rael, leader of Xandar and commander of Nova Corps, and Centurion Tal Marik, the top officer of Nova Prime, prepare to fly into space. However, while the exhibition of the Cosmic Generator begins successfully, it is soon interrupted by the appearance of a Celestial, Eson, who snatches it for himself.

The Starjumpers

Buckle up and get ready, it’s almost time to blast off! While the Guardians are on their way to help reclaim the Cosmic Generator, they will want assistance in the process. This is the point at which this cosmic journey becomes a cosmic adventure.

Join the virtual queue request

A virtual line will be in place when Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind releases. To access the attraction, guests must use the My Disney Experience app. There will be no standby queue available. Each Guest is only permitted to enter the virtual queue once per day. A virtual queue’s boarding groups are restricted, subject to availability, and are not guaranteed. Based on the availability of the experience, not all boarding groups may be called back.

When the attraction opens, guests will be able to purchase individual Lightning Lane admissions. Purchases of Lightning Lane entries are limited in quantity, subject to modification or closure, may vary by date, and are not guaranteed.

What do we think

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is on the “more extreme” end of the Walt Disney World roller coaster range but with amazing tunes! Although it isn’t intense by real-world roller coaster criteria. It’s also never uncomfortable or unpleasant. The motion is more enjoyable and smooth than forceful and harsh.

Request one of the first two rows if you’re worried about Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind being too intense. That is the least exciting and startling. From a storyline viewpoint, any place in the center is optimal.

Rows 9 or 10 will provide the biggest excitement. You may then take it a step further by focusing on every single show scene and object long after you’ve passed.
