What's going on at Casiola?

At Casiola, we believe that our responsibility extends far beyond providing a memorable vacation. We are deeply committed to protecting the beautiful environment that our guests and community call home. Sustainability is an important value to us, which we showcase proudly in our sustainability campaign.

Our mission has always had two key parts: improving our own sustainable practices and actively engaging with our community. This week, we were thrilled to take that commitment from our homes right into our own backyard.

Casiola cares for a greener tomorrow

As part of our “Casiola for Good” initiative, a dozen dedicated Casiola team members volunteered for a local community tree-planting day at Brownie Wise Park. The mission was critical: to help return this vital conservation area to its former, natural state.

Our team got their hands dirty to plant a new forest of 251 trees, including:

  • 140 (3-gallon) Cypress trees
  • 61 (1-gallon) Cypress trees
  • 50 (1-gallon) Longleaf Pine trees

Planting native species like Cypress and Pine is one of the most direct ways to support our local ecosystem, helping to restore wildlife habitats and improve water quality. But the benefits reach far beyond the park itself.

The impact of 251 trees

While these 251 saplings are just starting their work, their long-term potential is staggering.

Trees are nature’s ultimate air purifiers. As they grow, they will play a vital role in cleaning our air and fighting climate change by absorbing carbon dioxide (CO2), the primary greenhouse gas. Once these 251 trees reach maturity, they will have the power to absorb over 12,000 pounds (or 5,400 kg) of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere each year.

In return, they will release enough fresh oxygen back into the air to support more than 500 people for an entire year.

For us, this isn’t just a one-day event; it’s a physical extension of our core values. It’s putting our belief in “Community Engagement,” a theme that is very close to our hearts, into tangible, local action. We are proud to have been a part of this restoration project and to watch these 251 trees grow, knowing they will benefit our community for generations to come.
