48 Hours of Fun in Orlando for Mother’s Day

News, Orlando travel and vacation planning tips, Shopping, Theme Parks, Walt Disney World, What's going on in Orlando?
Our mothers did so much for us growing up — changing our diapers, keeping us fed, helping us with homework. It’s time we really showed her how much she means to us. What would be a better gift than a fun weekend in Orlando?! This Mother’s Day, take over the planning, treating your mom to 48 hours of fun in the city.

Saturday Morning—Do Disney

No matter how old you get, Disney will always be the “happiest place on earth”. Let your mom channel her inner child with a visit to the theme park on Mother’s Day weekend. Most Disney crowd calendars put the crowd level during Mother’s Day weekend at moderate or lower. This makes it a great time to check out all the parks. Some moms will especially appreciate the Flower & Garden Festival at EPCOT going on that weekend.

Saturday Afternoon—Go on a Shopping Spree

Disney Springs is always a good choice for shopping-til-you-drop, but it’s especially great for Mother’s Day. Let her pick out her own Mother’s Day gift at popular retailers like L’Occitane en Provence, Lilly Pulitzer and Vera Bradley. She’ll also love perusing the beautiful jewelry at Diamonds International and UNOde50. If she’s a Disney fan, don’t miss the World of Disney store for unique Disney gifts you can’t find anywhere else. Many of the stores run special sales that weekend, so you can treat your mom to something extra nice!

Saturday Evening—Take Her Dancing

Wine and dine your mom at the Mother’s Day Black and White Dinner and Dance on Saturday night. Sponsored by Hair in Motion New York, the elegant evening features dinner and dancing. Dj Carlton and Dj Charlie Brown will be spinning the tunes as you dance the night away.

Sunday Morning—Treat Her to Brunch

Restaurants all over the city offer special Mother’s Day brunches so your mom can take a break from cooking. From pasta bars to sushi buffets, you’re sure to find something your mom loves. And best of all, many of the brunches offer free mimosas, bloody mary’s or champagne to all moms.  Check out our Mother’s Day brunch guide here.

Sunday Afternoon—Stop and Smell the Flowers

On Mother’s Day, Leu Gardens opens its doors to moms, offering free admission to all mothers. Wander the pathways through 50 acres of lush landscaping, beautiful flowers and stunning gardens. Leu Gardens is home to Florida’s largest rose garden, in full bloom during the month of May. While there, treat mom to a sweet something from Sugarbuzz Dezert Company or Peak Season Pops.
